About my A-Level Economics tutoring
🏆 Oxford winner of 3 prizes in economics (Calvin Cheng prize) ● PPE Oxford First ● highest mark at Oxford in game theory ● started the Cambridge MPhil in Economic Research. ⭐ The A* was the most common grade for my A-Level economics students in 2025 (10 students secured A*/A grades in 2025).
I can take on home schooling A-Level economics students where I have a lot of specific experience delivering the whole course as well.
Economics A-Level specialism
I have specialized in economics A-Level as my professional focus, where I scored a First at Oxford University in economics, with three prizes in economics (including the Calvin Cheng prize); I have experience teaching a huge number of students (145 1to1 economics A-Level students). I offer bespoke tailored lessons on exactly what students need to unlock their potential and get the highest possible A-Level economics grade. The A* was the most common grade achieved by my A-Level economics students in 2024 and 2025; 82% of my Edexcel economics A-Level students got A/A* results in the 2025 exams. In the 2024-25 exams, 9 of my A-Level economics students secured the A* grade and 18 students secured A*/A grades. 7 of my Edexcel economics A-Level students secured the A* in the 2024-25 exams, with the A* as the most common result.
“The length and breadth of his knowledge of the subject really is exceptional, as is his ability to teach it.”— Dan, parent · verified review
I cover in lessons all the analysis, evaluation and application in depth needed to score a top grade in A-Level economics through optimising students’ results, learning and exam technique. I dedicate myself to offering the best possible A-Level economics tutoring, through studying, preparing resources and reading many A-Level economics textbooks (I have read at least 5 extra A-Level economics textbooks to plan lessons), markschemes and past papers: I have carefully planned the most useful material for students, read textbooks and selected past paper questions from well over 1000 pages of the best, most useful, material for A-Level economics students. I have also researched, prepared and had training from an international tutoring school (Akademeia Tutorial College) I worked full time on for optimal exam technique for students for all major exam boards in A-Level economics. For every lesson, I provide thorough coverage of the most exam focused material students need and provide homework with extensive past paper practice organised by topic to ensure students learn how to apply their knowledge to the exam.
“He helped me focus on the key topic areas most likely to come up in the exam, making sure we covered every part of the syllabus thoroughly. He helped me develop strong chains of analysis, which significantly boosted the quality of my exam answers.”— Zeynep, A-Level Economics student · verified review
Studying economics at Oxford for my undergraduate and at Cambridge on the master’s course I read many thousands of pages of economic theory, which means I can add depth, detail and context to the entire A-Level syllabus as well. Evaluation is worth up to 28% of marks and is crucial to score well for all exam boards on the mark scheme (AQA/Edexcel/OCR/Edequas/CAIE). I offer detailed evaluation points in lessons that I have carefully prepared for students because it is weighted so highly on the markscheme for A-Level economics. My students have exceptional performance consequently. I can make sure students know exactly what they are doing in the exam to maximize their mark in 25 marker questions. I tutored A-Level economics heavily in an international tutoring school Akademeia Tutorial College, where I worked full time as a professional tutor for international students targeting UK universities for economics (helping students with the economics applications for LSE and UCL).
