What you're getting

Every lesson is one-to-one with me personally — I don't use associate tutors. Lessons are an hour, online via Zoom, in recurring weekly slots I hold for you. I also do one-off sessions and short blocks before exams.

Rate

Tutoring is £80 per hour.

Payment

I invoice monthly in arrears: the invoice goes out on the first of the month covering the lessons taught the month before, and is payable within 7 days. Bank transfer or Stripe, whichever suits you.

The one exception is the first lesson — I ask for £80 on the day of the first lesson, which comes off your first invoice.

Cancelling a lesson

Let me know before midday the day before and there's no charge. After that the lesson is chargeable at 50%, and a lesson missed with no notice at all is chargeable in full — by then the slot can't be given to anyone else.

In practice I waive this the first couple of times if notified of the late cancellation, and for genuine illness. It's there for repeated late cancellation, not for the occasional clash.

Ending or pausing lessons

There's no minimum commitment and no fixed term. If you want to stop or pause your slot, a week's notice is enough.

Changes to the rate

I review my rate once a year. If it changes, you'll get at least a month's notice before it applies to you.

Your 14-day right to change your mind

You have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days of us agreeing, without giving a reason — just email or message me.

Most people want to start sooner than that. If you ask me to begin lessons inside the 14 days that is completely fine: it simply means that if you then withdraw, you pay for the lessons already taught and nothing more.

English law governs these terms.

I have a long-term Polish partner of four years, and we spend a lot of time in Europe as well as London. I have been on 27 flights to visit her to and from London. It was logical, therefore, for me to have a European company in addition to my UK limited company registered in London (TOP ECONTUTOR LTD, company no. 15378101, registered office: 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX — Companies House record). To be clear: all one-to-one tutoring is contracted through TOP ECONTUTOR, which is the trading name of TOP ECONTUTOR Sp. z o.o. identified below.
